چکیده

conclusions in most cases, the conus artery can be visualized in cardiac ct. a description of the conus artery should be a part of the standard clinical coronary ct angiography description. objectives to examine whether it is possible to visualize the conus artery in multi-slice computed tomography (ct). patients and methods in 79 consecutive patients (aged 56 ± 12.9 years; 13 women), 64-slice ct was performed due to a suspicion of coronary artery disease. the standard protocol for scanning with retrospective gating was used for all the patients. results it was possible to visualize the conus artery in coronary ct angiography in 64 (81%) patients. the course of the conus artery in the right ventricle was commonly in the outflow tract direction. the conus artery was visualized at a distance of 33.2 ± 16.3 mm. the average diameter of the conus artery was 2.3 ± 0.8 mm. the conus artery most frequently originated from the first segment of the right coronary artery (53%) and directly from the aorta (37.9%). in the rest of the cases, there was a common trunk for both vessels (ca/rca). background the conus artery is usually the first branch of the right coronary artery (rca) and passes around the right ventricular outflow tract.

Coronary CT angiography in coronary artery disease: Opportunities and challenges

Coronary CT angiography is widely recognised as a reliable imaging modality for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. Coronary CT angiography not only provides excellent visualisation of anatomical changes in the coronary artery with high diagnostic value in the detection of lumen stenosis or occlusion, but also offers quantitative characterisation of coronary plaque components. Furthermore...

Multislice CT Coronary Angiography in Evaluation of Coronary Artery Disease

The investigation and treatment of coronary disease impose a significant burden on health service resources. Catheter coronary angiography remains the gold standard for the investigation of suspected coronary disease. Given the invasive nature and high costs of invasive coronary angiography, there is an increased interest in noninvasive methods to image the lumen of the coronary arteries. Recen...

Comparison of coronary CT angiography with conventional coronary angiography in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease.

Noninvasive CT coronary angiography is a promising coronary imaging technique. In spite of the unprecedented temporal and spatial resolution and the inability to perform therapeutic interventions in the same session multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) has been considering a promising alternative, non invasive tool for coronary artery imaging due to its high sensitivity and specificity for...

Anxiety levels in patients candidate for coronary artery angiography

Introduction: One of the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in coronary artery disease is coronary artery angiography. Due to the invasiveness of this method, most patients experience anxiety before it is performed. Anxiety causes physiological responses in the body that can increase the incidence of complications in these patients. This study aimed to investigate anxiety levels in patients ...

diagnostic performance of multislice ct coronary angiography in the assessment of significant coronary artery disease

the use of noninvasive assessment tools such as multi-slice ct coronary angiography (msct-ca-ca) is recently considered mainly because it offers safety, patient convenience, and faster performance. the aim of the present study was to determine the ability of msct-ca-ca for the detection of significant stenoses in the coronary arteries, in comparison to conventional invasive coronary angiography...
